Site Creator Jennifer Sandholm
Jennifer asked a friend to help with some keywords to describe her, that friend came up with magnanimous, mellifluous, well-rounded, insightful, intuitive, and grounded.
Then she asked her to be honest.
Like so many, her harshest critic is the woman who stares back at her from the mirror. Jennifer works to prove to that one person who doubts her most, that she is worth it and capable. She would love to think she has all the answers, but sometimes she just closes her eyes and guesses.
As part of #momsover40, she is a single mom of two amazing humans. She holds BFA in Studio Art and is currently continuing her education, with Master's credits towards Social Work and Women's and Gender Studies. Having spent much of her life working in the service industry, she eagerly learned about people and their needs. One thing she noticed was, we as humans face so many of the same worries and crave similar dreams but very few are talking about what that looks like. That we as a world fell lost because we forgot how to act and think through love. Empathy and Compassion have escaped the minds of misguided souls. It was only when she pridefully conquered her own childhood trauma she had a personal eureka moment. She realized to heal we needed to hear the stories of others and share our own stories as well, through storytelling, music, visual art, or just between family and friends. Together we can unpack the outdated beliefs of wounded people and build stronger bonds with each other. This journey was not all sunshine and rainbows, she quickly realized she didn't have the slightest clue how to live through love or even scarier how to be loved.
Tune as she tries to navigate the often rocky terrain of this thing called life, spirituality, family, healing, and the most terrifying... love.
